Pickup & Intake Fee Policy
Pickup and the regular batch service fee are shown before a new collection request is submitted. Active promotional waivers are applied automatically at successful submission.
Updated September 25, 2026Launch Offer — First 100 Sellers
The first 100 eligible sellers to successfully submit their first collection request receive a waiver of the regular $12 batch service fee on that first batch. 100 launch spots currently remain.
Creating an account does not reserve or consume a spot. A spot is claimed only when the first collection request is successfully saved. Each seller can claim the offer once, and previous collection requests make that seller ineligible for a later claim.
The offer has no scheduled calendar end date. It ends automatically when claim #100 is used. After that, the regular $12 batch service fee applies to all new batches. The flat $5 pickup transportation fee for pickups below $100 is separate and is not waived.
$100+ Free Priority Pickup
When the estimated combined resale value of your pickup is $100 CAD or more, the transportation portion of pickup is free and the request receives priority handling.
A regular $12 batch service fee applies once per new batch unless an active promotion validly waives it. It covers processing and includes a Shikimomo Bag if you request one.
Pickups Below $100
Pickup requests below $100 in estimated combined resale value are allowed, but one flat transportation fee of $5 CAD per pickup applies in addition to the regular $12 batch service fee unless that service fee is validly waived by an active promotion.
The $5 pickup fee is charged once for the whole pickup, regardless of how many items are included, and is shown before submission. The launch service-fee waiver does not remove this transportation fee.
Shikimomo Bag vs. Your Own Bag / Box
A Shikimomo Bag request is available when the submitted items have an estimated combined resale value of at least $60.
The Shikimomo Bag is included in the same regular $12 batch service fee. There is no separate Bag charge. You may also use your own suitable bag or box. When an eligible promotion waives the batch service fee, there is still no separate Bag charge.
$12 Regular Batch Service Fee
Each new collection batch normally records one $12 service fee, not one processing fee plus another Bag fee. The same regular $12 total applies whether you request a Shikimomo Bag or use your own suitable bag/box.
The fee is intended to be deducted from seller earnings when settlement is available rather than charged to a payment card upfront. The fee or any valid waiver is snapshotted on the batch when the request is created, so a later policy change does not rewrite an older batch.
Pickup Confirmation
Customers may receive a reminder approximately 24 hours before pickup and a second reminder closer to the pickup window. A pickup must be confirmed before Shikimomo dispatches it.
- Confirmed → eligible for dispatch.
- Cancelled or rescheduled before dispatch → not treated as a missed pickup.
- Not confirmed → Shikimomo does not dispatch the pickup.
Pickup Time Windows
Pickup times may be provided as a time window rather than an exact arrival time.
This lets Shikimomo organize efficient routes. Customers may also receive a notification when the driver is approaching.
What Counts as a Missed Pickup?
A true missed pickup is recorded only after the seller confirmed the appointment and Shikimomo attempted the pickup, but it could not be completed because the seller or items were unavailable.
A request that was never confirmed is not treated as the same thing as a driver no-show event.
Repeated Confirmed No-Shows
Shikimomo currently does not charge a first- or second-missed-pickup cash fee under the active rules. After 2 confirmed missed pickups, free-pickup access may be suspended. Other options may remain available.
This rule is intended to protect route capacity and driver time, not to punish customers who cancel early.
Pickup Eligibility
A collection request requires an estimated combined resale value of at least $60. This is the seller’s estimate, not a guarantee of final pricing. Before approval, we may request the approximate number of items, categories, brands, estimated resale value and photos. Clothing must be clean, hygienic, complete and in good wearable condition. Stained, torn, holed or significantly damaged items may be rejected after physical inspection, even when the estimated batch minimum was met.
Why These Thresholds Exist
Pickup, inspection, photography and listing preparation create real work even when an item has a low resale value. The threshold and service-fee structure help keep free pickup sustainable while making the cost visible before you commit.
